![]() Then I realized that books are possessions and they're meant to be read - whatever that means for the person who owns it. I didn't used to and was one of those annoying people that would throw a fit over a cracked paperback spine, lol. So, to the readers who do - explain yourselves! Please and thank you. It seems like the best way to truly get the most out of a book, but without an organized system, I forget/don't care about annotating what I read. There are things I've paid attention to or thought about in the heat of the moment that are now forgotten due to me not making the effort of noting them down. I've always been a bit jealous of people who make notes of and place markers in books. I was curious but I never asked her about it, however, she did reveal that she wasn't reading it as an assignment (so the page markers had not been placed for the sake of schoolwork). I'm talking layer-upon-layer, tens of page markers of at least five different colors. I noticed (would be difficult not to, really) that it was completely packed with page markers, as though a rainbow had been crushed inside and the remains were dripping out between the pages.
